Sardonis - EP, Label: Electric Earth
One of the newest Doom Metal bands from the European scene is the instrumental, two man band, Sardonis. Their new vinyl seven inch features four Doom-Rock songs that stray away from traditional down tempo, power chord Doom Metal as they explore the more diverse riffs and skull banging tempos of modern Doom Metal. Sardonis shifts gears from fast to slow and diversifies their riffs and chords to keep the listener's attention. This EP features both fast and slower Doom-Rock oriented songs that force the listener to head bang themselves into oblivion or conversely to stare off in a dreamy, purple haze like daze. The one song that best encompasses Sardonis' sound, style, and approach is the song 'Sick Horses'. If you check out only one Sardonis track try and find 'Sick Horses'. Sardonis has the ability to be mellow, psychadelic, and skull crushingly heavy all in the same song. This is one heavy, downtuned, vinyl EP that acts as a prelude to the oblivion that will surely be the follow up full length expected in 2009. Check out electric-earch.com for more info.
