Malaysian Capital Ushers In New Millennium
Work is well under way on an exciting and very shiny project in Kuala Lumpur.
To be built by Singapore tycoon Kwek Leng Beng who owns the newly refurbished Grand Millennium hotel the new tower called the Millennium Residences will stand right next to it at a height of 228 metres.
The brand spanking new tower designed by renowned architect Carlos Ott will house 135 1 bedroom to 3 bedroom luxury apartments, as well as the usual amenities we have come to expect in these builds.
The towers appearance however gives a surprise by practically screaming how luxurious it is to passers by. Looking something like a rocket ship the tower gently curves upwards to its 15 storey pointy crown which will offer stunning views of the city below. The façade whilst being made up of the usual steel and glass uses colour to make this tower an iconic and stunning addition to the Kuala Lumpur skyline.
The outlines of the tower use dark greys and steel tones whilst the centre of the faces are gold which amplifies the suggestion of opulence to be found within the tower. During the day the natural light will help the colour radiate from the tower while at night interior lighting will make the tower a colourful beacon.
Pricing as yet has not been decided on but it is likely to be around RM1,800 per sq ft. Despite the fact that more than 20 condominium projects (totalling 5,000-odd units) will be launched next year demand for the units are expected to be high due to the towers location within the business district of Kuala Lumpur.
Completion of the tower is expected mid 2011
